Originally from Utah, Leslie spent most of her early childhood in Georgia before moving to California at the age of nine. She grew up in Mendocino, married in 1993, and is the mother of two children. Her favorite leisure activities include gardening, reading, and spending time with family members.

Leslie became a partner in Carney & Sugai, LLP in 2005. She finds being an attorney rewarding due to the unique challenges each case presents. She enjoys the ever changing nature of law because it consistently attracts and holds her interest. Her goal is to provide personalized service to every client by spending the time to understand specific needs and determine how to meet those needs effectively.
